Two good running Bombardier 275MP Snowcats , One is none operational parts cat( same model) and various random parts. The cats have about 12,000 hours on them, but one just got a new engine last year that has about 4500 hours on it. Asking $37,500 for all three. This would be a good package for a tubing hill or XC ski center. These are a lighter weight snowcat than most newer machines and the width can easily be cut down for narrow trails.  Small operations that only need one groomer risk not operating when the groomer goes down.  This package not only gets you a back up machine, but also parts.                        SOLD – Did you ever test or purchase a Johnson Controls J10 snowgun? York Snow was purchased by Johnson Controls (around 2006) and JC set out to design the best fangun on the market.  It was a big project with a lot of hope to gain market share, until the recession of 2008.  Snowgun sales fell off and customer support wasn’t there for this new design.  I personally saw these machines running in Colorado and Utah and a few people spoke highly of them.  They went through many changes and the included photos appear to be the last design. The J10 snowguns were known to be extremely efficient, ran on 480 volts, 30 amp service, had nozzles that didn’t clog and were easy to remove and change.   The airflow for only 10 HP was very good with good throw.  Many of the parts were readily available from outside sources. Techno Alpin purchased Johnson Controls in 2012 and the leftover J10 inventory was included.  Techno Alpin has contracted with CHS Snowmakers to move this equipment.  The prices are incredibly low and many of these guns can be run with minimal work.  Several ski areas are building their own fanguns and […]

Happy Spring! We have exciting news here at CHS Snowmakers!  Since we started CHS in 2002, I have always had another job. Even though CHS was my full-time job, I was also a career firefighter/paramedic in Colorado for 12 of those years and, most recently, the Nordic Manager at Bogus Basin in Boise, Idaho.  As of April 1 (No Joke), CHS Snowmakers will be my one and only focus. We are looking forward to taking our family-owned and operated business to the next level and our valued customers will be the ones who benefit. What does this mean for you? Complete dedication to every aspect of CHS Snowmakers:  quotes, snowmaking hose repair, trucking (moving snowguns and snowcats), classifieds sales, and consulting.   We have a great product line that includes Niedner Hose, Drift Snowmaking Additive, Rogers Hydrants, the Tube Shaper, and Joka Gloves. Last week, our first Tube Shaper was built in Idaho, just down the road from our shop.  I worked hard with Cory Bradburn (one of the owners of TS) and our local welding shop; the finished product is second to none!  This opens the door for quicker delivery times next winter in the Western USA.  Our Classifieds page is growing in popularity […]
