Frisco Nordic Center, Frisco, CO. Frisco Nordic Center owner Gene Dayton contracted with CHS Snowmakers to make snow around the lodge area, the sledding hill and a few XC ski trails in November and December 2003. The snowmaking helped them to get open and it provided a solid base of snow in a very high traffic area for the season. It also allowed them to stay open just long enough in March, 2004 to host a large fundraising snow show race. Gene is securing water use rights to install a permanent underground snowmaking system to provide for an opening date before Thanksgiving and be able to ski into April every year.

Boy Scouts of America, Cornice II with hose and a complete snowmaking/fire protection system in the works. Camp Tahosa, Ward, CO northwest of Boulder. The camp pictured here has an onsite lake and they would like to install a snowmaking system for making snow at their winter camps. This system will also double as a fire protection system for the numerous cabins, the ranger's house and the lodge. February 6, 2004.

December 2002 the Centennial District of the Boy Scouts of America contacted CHS Snowmakers about snowmaking. They had an upcoming weekend event at Wellington Lake near Bailey, CO the weekend of January 25th 2003. The camp had very little natural snow and they wanted to make snow. We were able to make snow with up to 4 snowmakers (3 Cornice Snowmakers and 1 Cornice II Snowmaker) and used a 185 cfm tow behind compressor and a water pump drafting water out of the lake. The snowmaking took place in temperatures between 22° and 28°F over 6 hours. Here are a few of the pictures.
