Kestrel® Wind and Weather Instruments Kestrel portable weather stations are extremely well made, affordable and very accurate. CHS Snowmakers has been using a 3500 model for snowmaking for the last few years and it is still accurate and dependable. We use it to measure wind speed coming out of the Areco snowmakers, measure water temperature, determine starting temperature of various snowguns and general daily use. Kestrel weather stations can also be used for wildland firefighting to monitor the ever changing weather conditions on a fire scene. We recommend either the 3500 which gives the wet bulb temperature for snowmaking or the 4000. With the 4000 models the software is included so you can upload your weather data to your computer. The 4000 models will require the interface to download data to your computer using a USB port. Order your Kestrel weather stations below and pay with your
