The
Cornice II Snowmaker is ideal for making snow over larger
areas. Use it for cross country ski trails, sledding hills, or
even small ski trails or lift mazes. It uses 1" snowmaking hose with cam
locks and needs about 25 - 75 cfm of compressed air. We design underground snowmaking systems for the Cornice II Snowmaker,
scroll down for more and go to Snowmaking
Systems for details on the systems. We also have a
complete portable snowmaking system with two Cornice II Snowmakers, a
pump, hose and fittings for less than $5900. You will have to
supply the air compressor.

The Cornice II Snowmaker is designed to use low water and air pressure
yet make a larger volume of snow than the Cornice Snowmaker.
Because of the lower volume of air and lower air pressure, the Cornice II
Snowmaker is much quieter than full size snowmakers. The
Cornice II uses between 25 and 75 cfm (depending on the nozzle and air
temperature) as compared to many air and water snowmakers that use 300+
cfm. Those types of snowmakers sound like jet engines several
hundred feet away.

You can use the Cornice II
Snowmaker on your cross country ski trails. For the noise
sensitive areas near homes you can use a smaller nozzle to reduce
the noise levels. This will reduce the amount of snow produced,
yet allow you to still make snow.

The Cornice II Snowmaker is easy to use. It must be
27°
F or colder to make snow. Here is a set up list (Detailed
instructions come with the snowmaker):
1. Place snowmaker on tripod in location where you want to make
snow.
2. Hook up dry 1" hose from compressed air-line to snowmaker.
3. Hook up 1" hose to water supply and hook up to snowmaker.
4. Turn on air and water to snowmaker.
5. Adjust air and water valves on snowmaker until you are making snow.
|
A common misnomer is that snowmaking uses chemicals-- there are technically no chemicals that
need to be added to water to make snow. There are, however additives available such as Driftä
which makes the water freeze faster, producing more snow.
The Cornice II Snowmaker
operates best with air pressure between 90 and 100 psi. Water
pressure can be as low as 60 psi yet 100 psi or greater improves
production. Max water psi is 300. For greater pressures
contact us.

Our underground snowmaking systems will have a new twist to snowmaking
systems. Nearly all of the pipe will be installed by hand without
welding reducing the cost of installation dramatically. The
materials are also much less costly than steel, yet will last much
longer and will not corrode. Also
with our underground
snowmaking systems, Drift™
can
be added to the water increasing snow production.
